Subject: Agran re On-Line

       Harel --
Just thought I'd pass on Larry Agran's personal and heartfelt
appreciation for what you and everyone else have done for the campaign. He
told me last night that he was amazed how often he met someone who said
they'd first heard about him from on-line.
Agran referred to the on-line campaign as "the underground
democracy."
Larry Agran may not know where the "any" key is, but he knows a good
thing when he sees one. He agrees with my plans to use the nets after the
campaign to build our long-range movement for progressive and electoral
reform. So tell everyone to stick around . . .
       Steve

       Hi Harel --
I don't read The Nation (in fact, at this point I'm not reading much
of anything other than the daily paper!), so I can't judge what The Nation's
treatment of Larry has been. All I'm aware of is the Kopkind hoo-ha. The
Nation did interview Larry before the New York Primary, but I don't know
what if anything they wrote. I was told by one Agranista that the editorial
staff seemed quite disinterested in the interview while they conducted it, but
I wasn't there.

Ward,

Glad to have helped with posting.

Thanks for the info regarding Micah (with whom I did some email
correspondence last month (which I now hope to continue)). It's good
to know my posts / we at MAP were as effective as I had hoped. Is he a
friend of yours?

Regards,

Harel

I spent the summer in New York City subletting an apartment in
Greenviche Village. I found out that The Nation had a PeaceNet
account, and I offered to help them take advantage of it.

It turned out that Micah was the only person at The Nation using
the account. For the most part he used it to keep in touch with
his brother who's living in Japan. We met and talked a couple
of times.

The only idea of mine in which The Nation showed any interest
was to make a CD-ROM which would contain all of the issues of
The Nation -- all 126 years worth.
